So not sure what will be blogged in these pages. Just random Gertiness mostly. Right now, that probably means Japan as we are currently discussing the possibility of a trip to Japan. I have about a million ideas, but I think we will only be staying in Japan for about 14 or 15 days, so I was thinking I might blog about the things that interest me here, then come back when it's about time to go and make out our itinerary. Not really planning to do the tour thing much, though we do plan to utilize the free volunteer guide service offered in Tokyo, mostly by retired persons. I am eager to hear about Tokyo and Japan from a local, English-speaking guide. And perhaps practice my horrible Japanese with Texas accent on them, too! Haha!
If any of you out there reading this blog are from Japan, or know about Japan, please feel free to leave me comments about the things I blog about Japan. When we go (thinking positively here) I shall post a detailed trip report.
Speaking of trip reports, we just returned from a trip to London with my daughter's high school theater group. It was an awesome trip with a great time had by all. We saw a lot of London theater, naturally, including "Wicked" at the Apollo Victoria and "Blood Brothers". Both were excellent, as was "Billy Elliot" at the Victoria Palace. We went to Windsor Castle and I had tea in the same restaurant my older daughter had tea in two years ago when she went on the same London trip with the high school theater group. The restaurant was called the "Crooked House" and is just around the corner from the exit to Windsor Castle. We had the high tea for L35 (Note to self : why don't I have one of those cool pound symbols on my keyboard? I shall have to explore that. Also, I think I need a yen symbol for the blogs on Japan.). Now I'll agree, it seems like a big wad of cash for one tea service, but it was actually more reasonable than it seems as it was more food than four hungry walked a lot this week tourist people could consume.
More about the trip to London in future posts, after I figure out how to post my pictures on this blog.
